Looking at the Blakely Burl Tree

Photos of the Burl Tree taken on Saturday, 6/28//2009 - (continuation of initial study).
This study is called "Looking at the face of the tree".

The Burl Tree and the old building floor from road side.
The location from the road side is deceiving -
the burl tree grows in the side of a drainage ditch 6 feet below.
The burl tree is approximately 44.6" DBH from road side.
Height from ground level to bottom of the fork is about 11 feet.

Looking up at the growth formations of the burl tree - indications of extreme swirly grain potential

Looking up at the burl tree and the crotch section (fork) about 11 feet up from road side

Looking up at the left upper branch that crosses over to the right

The burl tree from is about 6 feet away from the old foundation and shop floor

It was important to get around behind the tree and clear brush, and photograph from behind
and get measurements.  Mark Lindquist revisited the site on 7/11/09.
